The map included within the South Wales Coal Annual of 1908 of Penarth dock and Ely Tidal Harbour. The importation wharves are indicated as is the route of the pedestrian subway under the River Ely. Interestingly, the proposed pontoon, or floating dock, location has been defined at the western end of the dock but six new coal tips, (4 in the basin and 2 in the main dock) the most efficient, are not shown.
