1984 - A photograph from the Mary Gillam Archive Project taken in May 1984 at the mouth of the River Ely. The 'old wharf' she describes was also probably part of the gridiron or wharfage associated with the Penarth Ship Building and Shiprepairing Company and is adjacent to the slipway.
