A very detailed image (plus colourised version) from the Newcastle Archives of the pontoon under construction on a misty day in 1909. The riveted construction of the frames may be seen attached to the keel plates. The "Wall" is constructed using a series of "A" frames and on the port side is the airbox framework. It reminds me of the song "The fog on the Tyne is all mine, all mine . . . etc." [062]
