"Diagram Shewing Proposed Position of Pontoon in Penarth Dock." The blueprint is obviously a delicate century old drawing from the Newcastle Archives. It indicates the position of an existing railway line and the west and north quay walls. A "Ladder leading to the top boom gangway", "Main gangway from shore to pontoon main deck", "Platform on side of pontoon to take gangway", and an "Extra broad top boom to act as gangway". At the right hand we have indicated a "Slot in quay wall for bottom boom to work in". [062]
