The construction of the engineering works for the Penarth Pontoon, Slipway and Ship Repairing Company Limited - close up

The construction of the engineering works for the Penarth Pontoon, Slipway and Ship Repairing Company Limited was commenced following the completion of the eastern wall of the main dock which had been undertaken at the expense of the dock company. The enlargement has been colourised.

The office where Julie worked was the window on the first floor above the fancy doorway. The company secretary had the next office to the left and the boardroom had the grand dock and pontoon view window. The clock tower was an addendum to the building. It must have been a most impressive view in its heyday especially if complete with a large brandy from the concealed bar within the boardroom oak paneling! [332]
