A Clever Cartoon - 'The extent to which Chinamen are being employed on British ships is a steadily growing menace to the interests of British seamen. Mr. Havlock Wilson as our readers know, made this question the leading issue in his gallant fight in Wandsworth. The cartoon we reproduce here was effectively employed on Mr. Wilson's behalf during the contest. It suggests the evils of the system in very telling fashion, and undoubtedly made a big impression on the electors.

In our last issue we published a return showing the increase in the number of Chinamen employed in the last couple of years. The figures are so remarkable that we make no apology in reproducing them here.'
