Penarth Dock, South Wales - 150 years - the heritage and legacy
Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .

Volume Four - An Era of Change, Uncertainty, Depression & War - Activity at the dock during World War II . . .

1943-1944 - A railway level view looking up the northern quayside of Penarth Dock. The cranes brought from Hull and Middlesbrough, the hydraulic house, a Quanson hut and the US vessel moored at the quayside. No smoke, no steam, no personnel; it seems unusual to capture such inactivity!

The original photograph is held at the archive of the National Museum of Wales. [Museum item number : 1999.169/30] [629] [20180405]
