1957 - The P & A Campbell's P.S. “Bristol Queen” on the Penarth pontoon in January of that year. She was launched in April 1946, having been built at the Bristol yard of Chas Hill & Sons. She was equipped with three oil fired boilers which fed the three cylinder, triple expansion engine. [099] [001]

P.S. Bristol Queen on the Penarth pontoon
The 'Bristol Queen' undergoing overhaul including inspection and painting of the hull. Date unknown but most likely during the mid or late 1950's. The photograph is attributed to Trevor Morgan in the excellent book 'White Funnel Magic' by Nigel Coombes. Moored against the south side of the dock is a British Railways cross-channel packet steamer but I am unable to identify her with certainty. [348] The lower image has been colourised.
