1970's - Penarth Dock

A view of the dock at ground level with tipping continuing as may be seen at the right of the image. The image shows the dock empty. At some point the locks between the basin and dock were filled and leveled. The engineering works has now been demolished (I think!). Someone obviously wanted to see if his VW camper van would float! The dock was slightly deeper at the southern side – witness the water. This is an important factor later on.

Penarth Dock - 1970's
Another view of the deserted dock taken from the same location as the upper image but with the dock full. I suggest that this is also from the 1970's. The Billy Banks estate looks down from its prominent position upon the hilltop. [000] [002]
