Volume Five - The Age of Decline & Crass Stupidity - Preparations for the Marina in 1987 . . .

During March 2024, I was given the privilege of viewing the following series of photographs which are in the care of Mr. Stuart Jones, the Penarth Marina Manager. Stuart is a civil engineer who worked upon the barrage and conversion of the Penarth Dock to the Penarth Marina. These photographs chart the methodology and extents of the Penarth Marina construction works and speak a thousand words. So, just maybe, 50+ years on, I begin approve of the re-purposing of Penarth Dock and Basin! However, I ponder, would it have been intelligent to have retained the entire dock and basin for marina use and, hence, preserve our lost heritage!
