Cooper's Boat Yard in the River Ely
Part of the c.1880 OS map. The Cogan Pill followed the line of the embankment to the left of "Mud" with the other witness line commencing close to the outlet marked across the river Ely. Could the Cooper boat building yard be the buildings and markings shown on the embankment at the head of the pill? [010]

Chas. Cooper lease in Penarth Dock Basin
A section of the GWR plan of 1928 kindly provided by the Swindon and Wiltshire Archives which shows Charles Cooper was assigned a lease to what appears to be floating ship repair raft or perhaps simply a mooring allocated to him within the basin. The text states that the assignment was originally dated 20th July 1859 (No. 933) which was obviously during the Taff Vale days when the Penarth Harbour, Docks & Railway Co. were the landlords and owned the property.
