A photograph taken possibly pre WWI looking downstream and showing tip number 1 distant, then numbers 2 and 3, very kindly supplied by Associated British Ports at Cardiff. Beyond the tips is the iron ore wharf which replaced two tip locations and was authorised in November 1885 and reported completed by July 1887. It is complete with a number of hydraulically operated cranes for the unloading of ore and its ongoing transit to the conversion facilities at the East Moors Iron and Steel works. [060]
Tip number 1 was authorised to be altered in December 1910 but what was undertaken is yet to investigate. Tips numbers 2 and 3 had been altered by 1898, perhaps in some way updated and improved.
