mid-1950's to early 1960's - A photograph of the oil storage tanks situated at the Ferry Road side of the River Ely Tidal Harbour. I estimate the date from the variety of cars which are parked. I believe the more modern vehicle is a Vauxhall Velox ; but it is a pre-1959 model since the Velox was restyled with a one-piece rear window afterwards. - I would, however, appreciate confirmation of this statement from a classic vehicle specialist!

mid-1950's to early 1960's - A photograph of the oil storage tanks situated at the Ferry Road side of the River Ely Tidal Harbour. A view from outside the perimeter security wall and fence. It would appear that the wall is a bund which is designed to contain oil should a leakage occur. In the foreground is a pipeline which presumably is for pumping oil through between the storage facility and perhaps the jetty in the River Ely. Also we see a number of empty timber cable rolls from the Enfield Company.
