Two images (plus colourised versions) taken from the 'South Wales Ports' handbook of 1949 showing Penarth Dock. In the lower image we have coal tip number 13 (left) of Tannett Walker together with a 'nude' hydraulic accumulator (i.e. with its external casing removed), numbers 12 & 11 and no. 10 on the right dating from 1893 built by Armstrong & Co. at a earlier date probably in the late 1920's, early 1930's, but prior to the dock closure for coal exports in 1936. The dock is closed for imports and exports being open only for ship repair and laying-up but clearly the British Transport Commission wants to continue to promote the dock to hopefully open it again.
