A list of Hydraulic Accumulators at Penarth Dock and the Ely Tidal Harbour, their specification, manufacturer, location and year of erection ranging from 1857 until 1920. This list is from the October 1935 version. These TVR and GWR plans and lists of Coal Shipping Appliances, effectively an asset register, catalogue the hydraulic accumulator installations at the dock and harbour during the period October 1935 to July 1942 and provide an insight into the hydraulically operated equipment. By July 1942 all eight hydraulic accumulators were still in place and most probably necessary for the operation of lock gates, the swing bridge and coal tips Nos. 2, 8, 10 and 13, most of which were in use for the war effort during the period 1939 to 1945. These documents are held at the Glamorgan Archives. [Glamorgan Archives Reference : D31/3/9] [599] [20191224]
