James Edwards - (1837-1892)

Mr James Edwards is buried at St. Augustine's Church, Penarth and the photo below of his last resting place and memorial, together with his wife and second son's, was kindly provided by Jackie Allen. [585]

The inscription reads : 'In Affectionate Memory of James Edwards, Superintendent of Penarth Dock and Harbour, who died on the 25th of July 1892, aged 55 years. For 26 years he devoted the best efforts of his life to the development and welfare of the town. He now rests from his labours regretted alike by his family, his friends and his fellow townsmen by this memorial is erected.'
