View from Parade, Penarth

'View from Parade, Penarth' - I can't recall the Windsor Gardens being referred to the parade before and I can't find any reference to it either. Has anyone any explanation to offer please? This Edwardian era postcard is from my Penarth Dock Collection. At the pier I believe is the newly launched (May 1907) Barry Railway Steamer 'Barry' of the Red Funnel Fleet. On the reverse side a hand written message to an address in Portland Square, Plymouth states:

'Dear L. - Am just off to see that young man's people at Cogan' Oh dear - it sounds as if the lady doesn't quite approve of the young man! It was posted from Penarth at 9:10 p.m. on the 17th of September 1907 which dates the Valentine's postcard to that period. [000] [001]

The Parade at Penarth
Another 'Parade' at Penarth as the humorous postcard implies. It dates from approximately the same era as the upper image and appears in the excellent book by Barry Thomas, 'Penarth - The Garden by the Sea' - 'So pack your trunk and come to Penarth' [106]
