The Pier, Penarth
The Pier, Penarth

The Pier, Penarth. A card posted in July 1909 to Miss Grainger at the Retreat, Badminton. The writer says 'This is rather a pretty postcard. We have been on the beach this morning the weather has cleared since breakfast'.

In the enlargement, Mr Walker's horse drawn taxi awaits its passengers outside the kiosk at the pier whilst children play on the beach as generations have done since. Another fine postcard from the growing Penarth Dock Collection. [001]

The Pier from Penarth Head

A Colourmaster International view of the Pier from Penarth Head in the 1950's. The 'Cardiff Queen' or 'Bristol Queen' has just left the pier for Weston-super-Mare. The islands of Steep Holm and Flat Holm are visible and the North devon coast is distant on the horizon. [001]
