Tony Batey - 'Captain Scott's Antarctic Expedition leaving Cardiff aboard the 'Terra Nova' 15th June 1910.' [402] - Another of Tony's wonderful depictions of the departure of the ill-fated expedition aboard the 'Terra Nova' from Cardiff en route to the Antarctic. A minor correction is that she was only later joined by Captain Robert Falcon Scott. Under tow of the tug 'Falcon' she is escorted by the paddle steamers 'Ravenswood' and 'Devonia'. The day-trippers didn't go as far as the South Pole, just to Barry and back! This print is currently available in a limited edition from Penarth Framing Services - just ask for Villis!
