| Edwin Hayes - (1820–1904) - 'Penarth from Cardiff' - An oil on canvas on blustery day. That lighthouse features again as does the Penarth Head with St. Augustine's church tower. A great day for sailing but not too good for being in a rowing boat! Edwin was a prolific maritime artist having gained a reputation for producing dramatic scenes of sail in rough waters. In 2011 the painting above was sold for 10,000 Euros at auction. [000] |
