D. S. Andrews - 'Bute West Dock' above and 'Custom House' below - 1920 - Mr. Andrews studied at the Royal College of Art in London prior to serving his country in WWI. He worked as an illustrator for many publications and held positions at Bath, Derby, Leeds and Sheffield art schools and colleges. He illustrated, with 24 sketches, a book entitled 'Cardiff - A Sketch-Book' published in 1920 from which these examples have been selected. [543] The title 'Custom House' is incorrect, however, since the building pictured is the 1896 offices of the Bute Dock Company.
