B.F.C. Parr - Cardiff Castle - an 'Art Colour' postcard based upon an original watercolour published by Valentine & Sons, Ltd., of Dundee and London.
B.F.C. Parr, or Frederick Parr [1887-1970] was a prolific artist known for his watercolours featuring picturesque views of Devon and his native Cornwall. He often included aspects of local social history adding greatly to the context of his art. His relationship with Valentine's and of the subject of Cardiff Castle is not known. I also note that the scale of the vehicles, especially the trolley bus is incorrect, hence, I conclude that this painting is probably a combination of a number of sketches. This artwork postcard is held within the Penarth Dock Collection. [001]
