'Pamir' - deck awash

'Pamir' - A photo taken of the same deck at sea which is shown in the amazing book 'the Last Time Around Cape Horn' by William Stark an earthy account of his voyage during 1949. William's comment is self-explanatory:-

'A view of Pamir's aft deck; above is the officers' head with an open door where one of the wives was swept away from the toilet by a heavy sea; note safety net above the rail, which saved her, along with prompt action from a crew member'. [335]

I tempted to comment that that must be the ultimate experience for a lady to be caught in these circumstances with her knickers down but I wouldn't dream of being so crude!
