Penarth Dock, South Wales - 150 years - the heritage and legacy
Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .

Volume Eight - Pre-Victorian to the present day - more aspects - Cardiff, Penarth and Environs - [vintage photo and postcard album] . . .

The Bathing Beach, Penarth

The Bathing Beach, Penarth - Probably a 1930's postcard which is unposted and has no publisher details. It is a view looking toward Lavernock at the southern end of the beach taken from a location nearby the yacht club. [001]

Windsor Gardens, Penarth

Windsor Gardens, Penarth - A lovely view from the gardens over the Severn Sea with a paddle steamer arriving at the pier. This is a Tuck's 'Oilette' postcard addressed to a young gentleman at an address at Roath Lake East, Cardiff. It states 'With best love and wishes for a very jolly Xmas and a Happy New Year from Mother.' What year Mother refers too is not stated unfortunately. A fine postcard image from the Penarth Dock Collection. [001]

The Dingle, Penarth
The Dingle, Penarth
The Dingle, Penarth - A fine view of the bridge with large residences of the rich through the trees. The gentleman in the bowler hat carries a walking cane and I can just make out his watch and chain on his waistcoat. His shoes gleam whereas the lad by his side has a flat cap, is tidily dressed but is obviously from a lower class! Another piece of social history and a fine postcard image from the Penarth Dock Collection. It is post stamped August 1905 [001]
