Penarth Gospel Yacht

Date unknown : Penarth Gospel Yacht - This image was brought to my attention and I was asked to identify the organisation who published it and when - I failed! I am not sure that it was associated with the Missions to Seamen? Can anybody assist please? [000] [002]

The text states :

" Mind your Helm "
Sail life's ocean with Christ
three 60 degrees
Christ died for our sins
We have all sinned
Glad Tidings
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and Thou Shalt be Saved

The word " Malachi " is a reference to the last book of the Old Testament in the Bible
and means 'my messenger' in Hebrew.

During June 2026, a gentleman named Tim Tracey emailed and kindly provided the following information :-

Good evening,

I found a photo on your website of the Gospel yacht. A watercolour of that photo used to hang in our home when I was a child. The yacht was owned by Archibald William Boland, once the harbour master of Penarth Dock and my great grandfather. I have little more information but do have details of the family tree. He had three children, A. W. Boland jr., David Boland, and Florence Elizabeth Boland, my grandmother. A. W. Snr. seemed to move over to Kent in his retirement, circa 1930's.

Regards

Tim Tracey
