Penarth Dock, South Wales - 150 years - the heritage and legacy
Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .

Volume Nine - Pre-Victorian to the present day - even more aspects - More Moments Captured in Time . . .

◊ c.1900 - Windsor Gardens & Pier - A lovely view from the gardens with a paddle steamer at the pier. I can identify the steamer from the enlargement as the p.s. 'Scotia' built in 1890. She served P & A Campbell's White Funnel Fleet until 1903 when she was sold to Italian owners. 'W.J.' writes in pencil to Miss Ada England of Balance Street, Bath : 'Having a fine time here, but the weather is not too nice.' This Rafael Tuck & Sons postcard from the 'Collo-Photo' Series has a post date during September 1919 and is another fine heritage record from the Penarth Dock Collection. [001] [20180822]
