Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .

Volume Nine - Pre-Victorian to the present day - even more aspects - More Moments Captured in Time . . .

◊ Esplanade Hotel and Baths, Penarth - A view of the fine hotel from the pier with the sea-water baths to the left. The area above the bar on the ground floor is a patio with excellent sea views but not for relaxation of the feint-hearted on a windy day. The card was posted in Cardiff during august 1921 to an address in Stepney Green, London and Amy informs Ethel that she is having a fine time, that it is nice weather but rather cold. Another of the fine postcard and photographic views of Moments Captured in Time from the Penarth Dock Collection. [001] [20180917]

◊ A Peek in the Park - A rear view of the hotel from Alexandra Park with the Severn Sea beyond. In 1904 the hotel was in the news when it was offered for sale at 5, High-street, Cardiff by Mr. D. T. Alexander, but at £4,250 the lot was withdrawn. - Evening Express [135] [361] 14th July 1904. Another of the fine postcard and photographic views of Moments Captured in Time from the Penarth Dock Collection. [001] [20180917]
