The fine architectural detail of the Mercantile Marine Office Building at Penarth Dock
The fine architectural detail of the Mercantile Marine Office Building at Penarth Dock now sadly in a state of dereliction. Built in the French Renaissance style popular at the time of its construction some time after 1867. (tenders were invited for its construction in newspaper advertisements during February 1867). Note the letters TVR in the intricate ironwork of the balcony and the fine masonry work in the shell, scroll and full or double spiral ropework. It is a grade II listed building and clearly requires some TLC as soon as possible if it ever to be saved. [001]
