Foundering of a Ship from Penarth- All on Board were Saved. - 'A Lloyd's Batavia telegram states that the German ship Harmonia, from Penarth, has sprung a leak, and foundered. All aboard were saved, and landed at Anjer.' - South Wales Echo [163] [361] 22nd April 1893.

'The German ship Harmonia, from Penarth, sprang a leak at Batavia and foundered, but, happily, all the fourteen hands on board were saved, and landed at Aryer.' - The Western Mail [164] [361] 24th April 1893.

Wreck of a Penarth-Laden Ship - Safety of the Crew - 'A Lloyd's Batavia telegram states that the German ship Harmonia, from Penarth, has sprung a leak, and foundered. All aboard were saved, and landed at Anjer.' - Evening Express [135] [361] 22nd April 1893.

Lloyd's Casualty Returns for 1893 report that the German ship 'Harmonia' of 1,454 tons net register, en-route Penarth for Batavia carrying a cargo of coal, foundered in the Indian Ocean on the 12th April. [856]
