Wrecks and Casualties  - 'The Norwegian barque Helena has been abandoned, water-logged. All on board landed at New York.' - South Wales Daily News [325] [361] 22nd November 1893.

 

The Lloyd's Casualty Returns for 1893 informs us under 'Sailing Vessels - Abandoned at Sea' that the Norwegian registered vessel 'Helena' of 681 Tons (Net), a wooden barque, on a voyage from Halifax to Penarth with a cargo of lumber was abandoned in the North Atlantic on the 14th November 1893.
