Wrecks and Casualties - [Special Telegrams from Lloyd's Agents] - 'The British steamer Teviot, from Glasgow, has returned to Shanghai with her bull strained and will discharge and dock for repairs.' - South Wales Daily News [325] [361] 19th January 1893

A month later, on the 17th February 1893, the 'Teviot' is recorded at Lloyd's as having been wrecked at Boghaz, Alexandria whilst on a voyage from Penarth to Alexandria loaded with a cargo of coal. She was of 1,349 tons (Net.) and 2,057 tons (Gross), U.K. registered, being of iron and steel construction. [760]
