One Man Injured - Explosion on a Penarth-laden Vessel - 'A Lloyd's telegram reports that the Norwegian barque Vinteren, from Penarth for Christiania, has put back to Penarth Roads, having been badly damaged by an explosion which occurred on board when off Lundy Island. One man was injured. The vessel will dock at Penarth for repairs.' - Evening Express [135] [361] 17th August 1895.

Cardiff Auction Mart - 'The Norwegian barque Vinteren, which was damaged by an explosion some time ago, and is now lying on the West Mud, Cardiff, was offered for sale by Messrs Tregerthen Dunn and Co., at the Cardiff Exchange, on Wednesday afternoon, and was knocked down at £100 to Mr Caple, of Cardiff.' - South Wales Daily News [325] [361] 12th September 1895.

Local News Items - 'At the Cardiff Docks Exchange on Wednesday afternoon Messrs. Tregerthen Dunn and Co. offered for sale by public auction the Norwegian barque Vinteren, which ship was damaged by explosion and is now lying on the West Mud, She is built of oak and pine, her dimensions being about 114 ft. by 29½ ft, by 20 ft., 468 tons register, and about 70S tons deadweight. The barque was sold to Mr. Caple, of Cardiff for £100.' - The Western Mail [164] [361]   12th September 1895.
