2000 - Cogan Station on the former Barry Railway Company line. The photograph is apparently taken from the Windsor Road bridge but I feel that it was more probably taken from the pedestrian bridge built adjacent to the road bridge in the 1880's. The pedestrian bridge is constructed of wrought iron, lattice-girders, supported upon ornate cast iron columns. It is a fine example of Victorian engineering in my opinion and was cast and made in Glasgow at George Smith, iron-founders at their Sun Foundry.

Cogan station viewed from Windsor Road overbridge. The former Cogan sidings up & down goods lines passed between the right-hand retaining wall and the up platform.

This photograph was taken during September 2000. [922] [923] [924] [image reference : bpm02174]
