1912 - Brown Lenox chain cable and attachments at the Lloyd's Bute chain and anchor testing wharf in 1912. They are destined for the Argentine battleships Moreno and Rivadavia, and are being admired by representatives of the Argentine government, the American builders of the vessels and J. B. Richardson, managing director of Brown Lenox. The canal boats on the left would have brought the chain down the canal from the Ynysangharad Works. The crane is standing on the turntable ; the track on the inside, nearest the sheds, is part of the Glamorganshire Canal Railway.[528][1000][1001]
These two photographs were taken on the same occasion, with the upper view illustrating the steam crane in more detail, whilst the lower is of the Admiralty anchors which were also bound for the Argentine vessels.[528][1002]
