The 2nd Glamorganshire Artillery Volunteers :

The 2nd Glamorganshire Artillery Volunteers manned the Penarth Head Fort and Coastal Battery and was a part-time unit of the British Army. Formed during November 1891, it was reorganised in January 1902 when divisional organisation was abolished. Company Numbers 6 and 7 were responsible for Penarth which probably included operations at Lavernock. The Companies were disbanded during January 1942.
