Penarth Dock, South Wales - 150 years - the heritage and legacy
Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .
Volume Twelve - Pre-Victorian to the Present Day - further aspects - Even More Moments Captured in Time - [vintage photo and postcard album] . . .

An aerial view of Penarth Head, the Pier and Esplanade together with St. Augustine's Church. The pier has its original buildings at its entrance, hence, this photograph dates prior to the 1930's. At the end of the pier, the Bijou Pavilion was destroyed by fire in 1931. Then the seawall was upgraded in 1926, hence, this photograph appears to date prior to the mid-1920's but not prior to 1917, when the searchlight emplacements were installed under Penarth Head. Any further assistance on the actual date would be greatly appreciated. A heritage photograph held within the Penarth Dock Collection. [001] [20230225]
