'Porthkerry Park, Barry.'
'The Boating Lake, Barry Island'

A colourised photograph of 'Porthkerry Park, Barry' with viaduct and below, 'The Boating Lake, Barry Island' taken from the Bristol Channel District Guide Book ; an edition published in 1934. [1332] [001] It states that :

'Westward, reached by a short coast road, is Cold Knap, Porthkerry Bay, and Watch-house Bay, from which fine views of the Channel can be obtained. A famous Pebble Beach exists here - over a mile long, ranged in crescents, and making a noise like distant thunder as the waves break upon it. Bathing is also very popular on this beach. Adjoining Porthkerry Bay will be found a new Boating Lake, surrounded by walks and gardens ;  also an extensive open-air Swimming Bath. Watch-house Bay, a cosy shingle beach adjacent to the swimming baths, is much frequented when the Atlantic breezes blow strongly in the nearby Porthkerry Bay.'
