c.1911 - The Beach, Penarth - Another Raphael Tuck & Sons postcard borrowed from the TuckDB website. Another busy day along the esplanade with a group of sailors, some junior paddlers and those lounging against the old sea wall awaiting some unsteady person to call in on them! [1258]
c.1905 - Penarth Beach - A postcard from 'The Camera Series' of the Western Mail, Ltd., Cardiff dated August 1905 and addressed to a Miss Ada Fletcher of Brandon Hill, Bristol. It is from B. J. with three kisses and states 'I remain your loving scohlar' - maybe he or she should learn how to spell 'scholar'! Yet another heritage postcard held within the Penarth Dock Collection. [001]
Penarth Head from Pier - A 'Noah's Ark Series, Penarth,' postcard posted in Penarth during August 1908 to a Dr. Dawnay in Hayling, Hants., explaining that the writer is staying at the Esplanade Hotel and complaining that it was pouring down all night with no change this Sunday morning hence 'No Church' today! I bet it is a hard slog back up to the town centre for those lovely horses after the long wait for their wealthy passengers! Another heritage postcard held within the Penarth Dock Collection. [001]
