Penarth - A lovely hand-coloured postcard view of the beach.
Penarth - A lovely hand-coloured postcard view of the beach, the pier and the yacht club; with its busy boating enthusiasts whilst others prefer to meander along the esplanade, whilst distant, the imposing Penarth Headland. The view may be dated by the lack of the Bijou Pavilion at the seaward end of the pier, hence, probably during the period between 1895, when the pier was opened, and prior to 1907 when the Bijou Pavilion was built. Another heritage postcard held within the Penarth Dock Collection. [001]

Penarth Head - A 'Postcard Picture' by Judges' Ltd., Hastings, England - Another postcard view from the 1930's which when contrasted with the previous view indicates the industrial growth of nearby Cardiff. The Art Deco Pier Pavilion is gleaming in its whitewash finish whilst smoke billows from the chimneys of the East Moors iron and steel production facilities.
