1895 - Taff Vale Railway - Penarth Dock and Harbour - The plan shows the unnamed wharf now in the control of the South Wales Public Wharf and Transit Company Limited and is named as their 'C' & 'D' sites the boundary of which is indicated in blue.

The iron-ore wharf and associated infrastructure has now been re-purposed as a liquid petroleum-storage and processing plant, incidentally receiving the world's first purpose built 'oil-tankers'. The initial oil consignment landed at this wharf from the Black Sea port of Batoum during August 1890!

The plan is held at the Glamorgan Archives. [Archive Reference : D/D Xjf 61/18] [599]
