Penarth Dock, South Wales - the heritage & legacy . . .
Volume Twelve - Pre-Victorian to the Present Day - further aspects - The River Ely Iron Ore Wharf . . .
Dowlais Iron Wharf.

A section of the late 1830's or early 1840's town plan of Cardiff which indicates the location of the Sea Lock House at the seaward end of the Glamorganshire Canal which opened to this point in June 1798. Adjacent, may be seen the Dowlais Office and on the banks of the river Taff the Dowlais Iron Wharf which, presumably, pre-dated the opening of the canal. The town plan was prepared for John Crichton Bute, Marquis of Bute, by John Wood. [599]
