Volume Eight - Pre-Victorian to the present day - more aspects - A brief history of Trinity House lightvessels . .
The need for lifting the buoy out of the water and scraping its bottom is no longer necessary except in exceptional circumstances. Obviously the light assembly and solar power units require maintenance but this is less of an issue and the reliability of modern electronic systems also enhances the safety and cost effectiveness of the buoys for mariners and Trinity House alike. We don't often 'blow our own foghorn' at Rota Design Limited, but on this occasion we are very proud of our contribution! |
