	1865 - A glimpse at the modern age with the docks complete and filling with water; I wonder what he was contemplating? Note the railway lines to and from the coal tips.

	A circa 1865 map showing twelve tips and the ballast wharf of the Ely Tidal Harbour plus the Dock and Basin south of the river. These were the railways, docks and harbours of the Taff Vale Railway Company.

	1883 - Note the arrangement of railway with turntable for the orientation of trucks to number 10 coal tip.

	1952 - An 0-6-2T steaming out of Penarth Dock Station on the steep incline toward Penarth Town.
