The information regarding the ketch 'Enid' is borrowed from the fine book 'The Sail of Cardiff Bay - Volume Two.' [074]

Within the text of working the vessel it states that she sailed from Neath to Swansea - 'On the next tide Enid sailed for Penarth and berthed in the Ely Tidal Harbour at 7 p.m., and the crew visited the Penarth Railway Hotel (Red House). Loading started early the next morning, Lucy Thomas coal. Loading was completed by 11 a.m., the cargo was trimmed, hatch battered, the vessel left for Lynmouth with a north-easterly force 4-5. Lynmouth was reached at 8 p.m., and the Enid anchored off. Unloading started the next morning, the vessel left on the next tide for Braunton.'
