The ketch 'Democrat' - A wooden hulled vessel built in 1900 at Milford Haven which often plied the coal trade between the Ely Tidal Harbour and the West Country harbours until c.1950.

In March 1954 she foundered in heavy seas off Le Havre and the crew of three were sadly drowned.
