Tenth, the Bridge over the Sea Lock shall be opened and closed at such Times and for such Periods, and subject to such Rules and Regulations, as shall from Time to Time be agreed upon between the Company and Canal Company, so as to accommodate as conveniently as may be as well Vessels passing through the Lock or Persons using the Road ; provided that Preference shall at all Times be given to Vessels using the said Lock, and that the Passage of such Vessels shall not be obstructed :

Eleventh, a proper Person or Persons shall be at all Times employed at the Expense of the Company, to open and close the Bridge, subject to and in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for the Time being in force ; and the Canal Company shall be entitled, if they shall so desire, to appoint such Person or Persons ; and any Person so appointed by them shall not be discharged or removed by the Company, except for Misconduct or Inattention :

Clause (F.) dealt with losses to the Canal Company and anyone using the canal, and also the Company had to indemnify the Canal Company against such losses!

Clause (G.) was concerned with differences of opinion, etc., between the Companies or their respective Engineers being referred to settlement by Arbitration. The arbitrator nominated by the Board of Trade would also settle associated costs arising.

The document concludes : - 'And the said Amendments being read a Second Time, were agreed by the House.'
