A search of local directories during the period 1880 - 1887, ( Butcher's Cardiff Directory of 1880-81 [132] and Owen & Co's. Cardiff Directory of 1887 [298] ) revealed a Mr. George Taylor residing at The Hollies, 1 Beach Road, Penarth. Further research is required to firmly establish this connection with these Patents but it seems likely that we have a positive link!

Also many thanks and acknowledgement to the British Library of London who kindly searched the ‘British granted patent specification data store (1617-1899)' and issued copies of the Patents. [921]

It would appear that at least one of these Patents came to fruition, as witness the following news article which also suggests that his relationship (and perhaps sponsorship) was with the Bute Docks at Cardiff :

1890 - Rapid Loading of Coal - 'A remarkable feat in the matter of a coal ship was accomplished at the Bute Docks last week, with cargoes aggregating 10,250 tons being completely loaded within twenty-nine hours. The coal was loaded from moveable tips, the invention of Mr. G. Taylor, of Penarth.' - Engineering [516] [499] 14th March 1890.
