GEORGE TAYLOR of Penarth in the County of Glamorgan " AN IMPROVED COAL STAITH OR TIP FOR LOADING OCEAN GOING STEAMERS "

PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION left by the said George Taylor at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents on the 1st June 1883.

GEORGE TAYLOR of Penarth in the County of Glamorgan " AN IMPROVED COAL STAITH OR TIP FOR LOADING OCEAN GOING STEAMERS "

My Invention has for its object to provide a movable coal staith or tip whereby ocean going steamers may be loaded with coal from railway waggons at various hatchways or places of each steamer simultaneously in order to secure more rapid dispatch.

Under the present system of loading such steamers with coal from a staith or tip they can seldom be loaded at more than one hatchway at once owing to the staiths or tips being fixed and incapable of being moved to suit the steamers' hatchways.
