GEORGE TAYLOR of Penarth in the County of Glamorgan "IMPROVEMENTS IN APPARATUS FOR TRANSFERRING, RAISING, AND TILTING RAILWAY COAL WAGGONS AND TRANSFERRING COAL THEBEFORM FOR THE PURPOSE OF LOADING VESSELS."

In loading sea going vessels with coal, the existing practice is to effect the operation by means of a staith to which the coal is brought in railway waggons, and from these it is tipped or discharged into a shoot pertaining to the staith and having a considerable inclination so as to cause the coal to run down it to the vessel.
