Another Record at Penarth.—The s.s. Sainte Adresse, the vessel belonging to the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique which created a record for the port by taking six cargoes of coal from Penarth for Le Havre during one month last year, has made another record at the same port. The vessel, which sailed from Penarth Dock on February 1 with a full cargo of coal, arrived back from Le Havre at 1.40 p.m. on the 5th, commenced loading under the four basin tips at 2.30 p.m., completed loading at 9.15 p.m., and sailed at 11.15 p.m. the same day.
During this period 3,913 tons of cargo and bunkers were shipped, the net loading time being only 6 hours 15 minutes, whilst the total time in dock amounted to 9 hours 35 minutes. This achievement constitutes a new record on this steamer both in the net loading time and the length of time the vessel was in dock.
